10.2.1 HARDWARE AND SOFTWARE

Based on the observations listed above, we have developed a low-cost, high-fidelity, mixed reality simulator to improve the learning outcomes of trainees introduced to the fundamental principles underlying IGI systems. Furthermore, we have developed presentations and short instructional videos to illustrate simulator usage and several fundamental principles underlying IGI. Figure 10.1 shows two simulator configurations corresponding to different levels of physical resemblance to a clinical IGI system.
